As many of my members know, much of my initial success with digital products on Etsy came from just a few designs that went “viral” and were centered around a specific trend at the time which is why I love spending at least 50% of my time designing around trends for the best chance of getting sales quickly.

With 2024 here, it’s the best time to take a deep dive into the world of digital products on Etsy and see what mind comes to dominate the space so that we can hopefully be ahead of the competition as much as possible.

So here are just a few of my predictions for 2024...  

Number One: Small Business Planners for Solopreneurs/Business Owners

I have seen small business planners for specific niches have already started to increase and will continue in 2024 - for example, individuals who might need a small business planner could be sublimation craft business owners (like the one I sell) or any other craft business owner, influencers or content creators, boutique clothing shop owners, Etsy shop owners.

The list could go on and on with this one and remember, the more specific you are with who (your audience) the product is for, the higher likelihood of success as compared to if you were just selling a business planner.

To save yourself tons of time, consider using PLR (private label rights) planners to speed up the creation process so you can get them listed as quickly as possible. Since time is one of the most important facets of running a profitable Etsy shop, I’ve implemented a monthly drop of PLR products that are included in my community as a way to help as much as possible!

Number Two: Laser Engraving Files (SVGs)

Because I work so much in the sublimation tumbler world (both physically and digitally), it’s easy to spot a rising digital product for these tumblers! If you aren’t familiar with the method of laser engraving for tumblers, just type that into YouTube to see what it’s all about.

Anyways, the SVG files for these particular tumblers are in very high demand due to the increase of sellers making and selling the physical item leading to the rise for the need of the digital designs!

And, they aren’t limited to tumblers! Just like with sublimation, the laser-engraving crafters create hundreds of different types of products that all require specific laser-engraving SVG files.

I would jump on this one quickly if it applies to your shop audience/niche! 

Number Three: Homeschool Printables 

Homeschooling is on the rise and so are the demands for printable assets. I consider this to be a slightly higher ticket than something like digital designs because the barrier to entry will be higher as you can’t just generate these types of digital downloads in Midjourney and call it good. :)

In my research, I found plenty of low competition product ideas like planners, checklists, curriculum, and homework & practice sheets, just to name a few.

This type of shop could also offer all types of digital assets for teachers as well, by changing up the same products just a bit and changing the SEO to scale your product line much more quickly and sales! 

Always be on the lookout

As a community, it’s really important for us to always be analyzing the trends and if they should be considered viable assets for our shops. 

You might be creating tumbler wraps or printable & digital planners already, or have a niche-based shop selling to book lovers (just an example), but the key is to always be on the lookout for new trending products that might be a fit for our audiences.
