So this is a big question I get all the time about Etsy so I thought I'd explain a few things crucial to running ads on Etsy successfully.

In 2023, I averaged over 4K per month in ad spend, the grand total for the year was a little over $51K, with a return over $112K, so it was definitely profitable. (screenshot below)

So why did I STOP running ads in January of 2024?

At the beginning of this year, I decided to dedicate the majority of my business time to my educational Etsy businesses, the 10K Digital Product Profit Formula and now my DFY Trending Product, Prompt & SEO Club...

AND SINCE...with a low ticket digital product (under $10) such as tumbler wraps, sublimation designs, digital papers, clip art, junk journal assets, etc., the ONLY time I've seen ads WORK is when your customer is buying multiple products from you, like 4-5 at least.

This is because at these price points, you'll need multiple purchases to cover the ad spend.

In my case, the ads were PROFITABLE because SO many customers bought multiple, RELATED items.

Since Etsy will show similar related listings of yours underneath the listing the customer lands on, 9 times out of 10, my customers were purchasing my 4 other bee tumbler wrap designs for example.

This is why it's SO IMPORTANT to have similar related items to what your running ads on, to increase that opportunity for multiple purchases.

SO....back to why I stopped....

Since I knew the majority of my time was going to be dedicated to the coursemunity and design club, I knew I would be putting out any where near the designs I used to and most of the time, they were not going to be related to each other.

HOWEVER...

I've still been able to average over $8,600 a month these last 5 months (screenshot below) all thanks to my automated traffic circle I've set up that allows me to post LESS designs and NOT rely on the algorithm or finding new customers via Etsy Ads.

Etsy Ads work...that's clear from my results, but you have to be employing the right strategies OR you can set up an automated traffic circle like mine so you aren't worrying about Ads, the Algo & finding new customers.
