One of the best ways to get those first few sales in your new Etsy shop is to create trending products.
These are the products that suddenly a whole lot of buyers are looking for but only a few sellers are selling. This is always the high-demand, low-competition sweet spot that we want to be in.
But how do you find trending products? I know your eyes might be glazing over at the thought of in-depth product research. You just want to create! I get it.
So let’s make this easy.

The easiest way to find trending digital products you can create and sell on Etsy is to look at Insight Factory.
Insight Factory is every Etsy seller’s BFF. It can help you write SEO-optimized product descriptions, choose the best tags, and find trending products.
You can do a decent amount with a free account, though you’ll likely want to upgrade to a paid account eventually to get all of the features and benefits. Seriously, it’s good.
So, head on over to Insight Factory and create your free account to get started.
Once you’re all logged in and on the home page, click on “Etsy Popular Products” at the top of the page. This will put you into the Etsy Trends tab.
The trends are divided into categories like holidays, digital products, clothes, weddings, jewelry, and more.
As I’m writing this the week before Valentine’s Day, it’s showing that Valentine’s Day, 100 Days of School, Black History Month, and Mardi Gras are all trending.
You can scroll around and find something you’re interested in creating, like a digital planner, journal, or Instagram post template.
To walk you through an example, I clicked on Journal and can see that a self-care journal and manifestation journal are both trending right now.
When I click to see the details on the self-care journal, I can see things like the tags used for the top-selling products, how many sales each product has gotten, and how strong the competition is.
Remember, we’re always looking for products that are getting a lot of sales with low competition.
You can look at the individual products that are selling to get an idea of what they are providing.
Obviously, you won’t be copying their product. But you can see what they are including as well as the style they are using.
You can use this knowledge to outline your own product, thinking about what else you would like to see included or what style you think would be popular.
Maybe you think a self-care journal could be improved with inspirational quotes, a space to track water consumption and a more minimalist design.
After you’ve created your product, you can return to Insight Factory and use their description generator to help you write an SEO-friendly product description that will help your new product get seen on Etsy.
So there you have it! Literally, just three clicks and you’re looking at in-depth data on trending Etsy products. I told you it would be easy. I hope this helps you hop on the trends and make more sales with your Etsy shop!
